just brought my Pathfinder home

Postby IndianScout » Mon Sep 17, 2012 6:36 am

I had purchased it and had to wait for them to get back from vacation..

anyway, on the drive home, I noticed this black tape covering the dash info lights and I peeled it off, I immediately see the doors ajar blinking and the oil pressure light on full time, so I pull over quickly and check the oil.

Oil was full as was all the other fluids.

I called them on the phone, he stated to me that the lights started doing this months ago and got tired of looking at it, he had the oil checked by mechanical pressure gauge and it was fine so he just put tape on the dash..

I dunno if I was more scared thinking I was going to be stuck 200+ miles from home or the fact I wasn't told..

I finished the drive home and have drove it all over the place it has the normal exhaust tick but other than that it runs like it's new..

his last statement to me was "pull the bulb out"

umm no way in hell I'm doing that, so the fun starts today..

just checked it with a manual pressure gauge, the sensor is bad, so I stuck a business card in front of it until the new one comes in..

If you've installed the new O/P switch and the light oil light is still flickering, check the wire to it for a break or short. Chances are it won't be far from the switch.
