Sticky Throttle?

Postby jacobfancy » Thu Apr 04, 2013 12:36 pm

Hey, i have a 91 Nissan Pathfinder, Se 4x4 manual. Just today, I noticed that my truck is not kicking down its rpms readily. Usually, once its warm, it idles at 750ish... Now it gets stuck at 1500, and is hard to get back down. Ill play with the throttle, and sometimes that works. Any advice will help

A lot of times, this is due to varnish buildup inside the throttle body. Try using some carb cleaner or throttle body cleaner to spray clean the inside of the throttle body and throttle plate. When you go to start it, you may need to hold the accelerator pedal to the floor (like trying to start a flooded engine).
