1994 Pathfinder Towing Question

Postby OHIO EAGLE » Mon May 19, 2008 9:09 pm

Will a 94 Pathy (V6 3.0L) be able to comfortably pull a 2,000 lb boat? I am looking to purchase this vehicle for the sole purpose of towing and I don't know if it would be wiser to get a bigger engine (3.8 or 4.0L) so I do not strain the engine and tranny as much. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
-Thanks
Matt

One of my friends had a '94 with a manual and towed some crazy stuff. He had an old army trailer, which by itself was almost 2k and then loaded it up. You have to do the usual early braking, but I don't think you need to worry. by the way, he had almost 200k on it before he traded it in and it still ran fine. He just wanted something bigger.

I think the towing weight limit is 3500 lbs for a WD21.
