1998 Pathfinder LE alarm question

Postby metalhead52 » Thu Feb 27, 2014 7:19 pm

Couldn't find an answer with the search function. Is there a way to unlock the drivers door with the key and not set off the alarm? I only have 1 key fob so if someone else in the family wants to drive it and only has a key, how do you stop the horn from blaring? The only way I can get it to stop is walk to the back and unlock the tailgate. This seems really stupid to have to unlock 2 locks just to shut off the alarm without a key fob. The owners manual is no help.

Is this an aftermarket alarms system, by any chance?

It shouldn't go off when opening the door with the key. You might want to check the key switch on the door lock inside the door.
