central locks dont work

Hi,

I have a 2001 pathfinder LE, and central locking does not work unless the key is in the ignition on 2 or when the vehicle is switched on. I decided to get a keyless fob and dealership is not able to program it, because central locking is not working when the vehicle is switched off. I would greatly appreciate any help.
