ABS questions

Postby jreb333 » Sun Jul 27, 2014 10:36 am

1996 2WD Pathfinder.

Power steering fluid got poured into my brake reservoir. it started eating rubber and brakes totally failed (as expected).

i have replaced all rubber brake parts. wheel cylinders, front and rear brake lines, caliper rebuild, master cylinder.

the pedal is still softer than i would prefer. after bleeding it extensively with a mit-y-vac i took it to a full service shop and had it bled again with a bleeder machine. they got no air out.

are there rubber internals inside the ABS block? has anyone ever eliminated the abs? if i do that is there a prop valve inside the MC or do i need an external one?

thanks for the help and sorry if there is a thread somewhere on this. i searched for one but the google search on this forum sucks
