Driver's Seat Not Sliding

Postby dpmjt » Mon Feb 23, 2009 4:21 pm

1996 Pathfinder with manually adjusted front seats. Driver's side seat will move only an inch forward and is otherwise stuck at its rear most position. Checked underneath and could see the cable, when pulled by the hand lever, caused the things that grab the notched rails/slides to release, but seat still doesn't move forward. Can't find an obstruction. Any suggestions?

you might have something stuck in the rail, maybe some coins probably. you might want to take the seat out of the truck to check it. good luck.

Driver's Seat Not Sliding

You were right. I unbolted the seat (easy enough) and found a multilated penny wedged deep in the rail. It took a few minutes to remove, but all is well. It was nothing that could have been detected without removing the seat. Thanks.
