4x4 Pathfinder N00b, got Tire/Rim Questions

Postby 99problems » Wed Mar 24, 2010 2:12 am

Hey all, I am new to not only this forum, but the 4WD world of SUV's as well...(used to drive only sports cars before this)....I recently bought a 98 Pathfinder SE 4WD, and have some questions about rims and tires.

It came with 2 different sets of rims, (early model Xterras in the front, and stock Pathfinders in the back, with one flat) 6 Lugs.

I am looking to replace them all with a set of four matching rims and tires, and wanted to know what size rims/tires would fit (stocks or aftermarket, stock size or bigger) without proving to be a rubbing or turn radius issue.

The truck currently has 15s on it, but saw what 17s look like and really liked the look. BUt do not want to buy anything that will cause a problem for driving, or require lifts or spacer modifications.

Any advice you seasoned Pathfinder experts?

Thanks in advance.

get a wheel with 4-4.25" of backspacing.

Get a 31" tire for a 15" wheel. I think thats a 265/75 size tire for a 16" or 17" wheel. use a calculator to figure it out.

Hope this helps.

Jose
