Tyre choise question

I am considering to install 32" tyres instead of 30" ones. Got a 2" lift.
I wonder what will happen if I do so. I've heard that this affects transmission in a very unhealthy way. To what extent is it true? Will it be likely to start malfunctioning soon? Will my fuel consumption get much worse?
Any other Ideas about it pls)

I've seen 1990-1995 A/T Toyotas riding on 33" wheels and they're feelin quite ok
