Planning on Purchasing an R50

Postby oglaughzalotzz » Sun Mar 13, 2011 1:42 pm

So i was checking out an 03 Pathfinder SE w/ 130k. leather interior, Bose audio w/ steering wheel mounted controls it also had a sunroof. Dealer is asking for 6999. took it for a test drive and she drove smooth. 4x4 engages smoothly. not sure if its an issue or not but at about 60mph in 4x4 i felt vibrations and also you can hear the belts squeaking a bit under the hood. other than that its in excellent condition. any advice about this vehicle in particular?

i would try to make an offer, since 130k miles for a 2003 SE for $6999 is a little too much for me

You were doing 60 in 4x4??

Sure you weren't in AUTO which engages the front wheels when slipping is detected?

You shouldn't be traveling more than 50mph in 4 wheel High. Much slower in 4 Low obviously. Also, 4 wheel drive should be reserved for wet / snow / ice on paved roads, not dry roads. Hope this answers your question.
