BIG PROBLEM: My PF gets stuck in park!

I have a silver 04 LE and whenever i put my car in park i cannot get it out. I found a temporary fix however. Above the shifter is the shift lock slot and every time i want to leave park i have to stick my spare key in there to move it. Can someone help me out? Is there a way i can fix it or should i bring it to a shop? Thanks
