Light Grinding Sound Transmission in Drive but stopped-2004

Postby polara6t » Tue Oct 11, 2011 5:35 pm

So just tried to all search keywords and could not find an answer to this problem. When my car comes to stop in drive there is a metallic grinding sound. So any thoughts and let me add thank you so much in advance for your thoughts. Car has just 50,000 miles every service has been performed and the car has been perfect. Unlike the post below on acceleration the sound is not present,

Any chance that this is coming from brakes? I had similar issue when my mechanic put a cheap brake pads - they were dusting like crazy and sometimes would have a grinding noise when braking. Bought ceramic pads and no issues.

If it is brake related I would also check your rotors. Take a look at the dust shield and make sure it isn't bend.
