mystery trans. fluid leak - 2003 pathfinder

Postby stormy76 » Sat Mar 24, 2012 8:12 am

Newbie here, I am trying to solve a trans. fluid leak for a friend. It's a 2003 nissan Pathfinder SE 3.5, auto 4x4 with 166,000 miles. she had trans.service done in Dec. @ reputable shop & now has a fluid leak with no apperant source. Pass. side frame rail was coated from behind front tire to rear tire. Pressure washed undercarriage, topped off trans. fluid-2- 1/2 qt,s low, drove about 10 miles & crawled under car, & only fluid found was clear back just ahead of muffler under a heat shield that covers a cluster of 4 elect. connections ?????? Cleaned off connectors & drove again-10 miles. Trans. fluid was present again @ elect. connections!!!!! I am at a complete loss to explain this leak. trans. & transfer case are clean & dry as is undercarriage- no leaks present. Anyone know what these connectors go to ? If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate your input.
Thanks, :( Stormy
