2004 SE R50 Shift Shock

Postby bensho » Sun Jun 17, 2012 11:53 pm

Hi everyone,

I find this forum very informative. I would like to ask few questions regarding my 2004 SE Pathy.

1. I feel the shift shock while driving from "D" mode. I can feel it from the 1st gear to the 2nd gear. 3rd and 4th is very less but still there. Is this normal for this model?

2. I hear "Clank" sound while driving especially when i release my foot on the gas pedal. This happens i think during deceleration.can anyone comment on this? Should i check the U-bolt? I assume the U-bolt joint is the joint that joins the drive shaft propeller and rear differential? Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

A bad driveshaft U-joint could cause either one of those symptoms. So could excessive play in the rear differential.
