Auto Acceleration Issue...need help

Postby Alonso123 » Sun Jul 22, 2012 1:15 pm

1998 Nissan Pathfinder 2wd 6cyl Automatic 124,000 miles
When the vehicle is driven on the highway, the RPMs have been seen to flux 500-1500rpm. When the vehicle is left in neutral to warm up, it sometimes fluxuates 100-500 RPMs upward. The vehicle does not go faster when it fluxuates. The RPMs return to normal when you jockey the accelerator. Not sure if the tranny is slipping. Has this issue or anything similar happened to anyone else??

i had a similiar issue check the level of your oil. my finder threw a code for the variable cam timing and it not being able to function properly if it was low on oil. which my car was i put the proper amount of oil in it and the drivibility issue went away.
