Trading for a Pathinder

Postby JDMPath » Fri Oct 05, 2012 12:09 am

Hey Everyone,

I would like some opinions on the trade I am considering.

I currently have a 1998 Acura Integra LS 4 door 186,600 milles, that I am looking to trade for a Toyota or Nissan SUV or Pick Up. I orginally bought it with plans to modify it but money became tight, plans fell through, and I am kind of over the whole tuner thing for now.

Basically I want something bigger, reliable, safe, automatic, easy and inexpensive to maintain or repair, use as a daily drive, I can take camping and to the beach, and fun off road (not looking to rock crawl or anything like that).

This is the ad for my car and it list of work I have done to it since March 2012 - http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/3308152367.html

Here is Pathfinder I am considering. Not really the year I wanted but it looks good and I think I would be happy with it. The owner sent me the following service history below.

Good:

•Detailed maintenance records - Car is strong mechanically - 4x4 system works
•Body is in pretty decent shape, no rust. Car was in NC since at least 2005 (VA in 2011/12)
•All items on car still work well (windows, sunroof, keyfob, etc...) except where noted below.
•No major accidents (wife was rear-ended once (rear bumper cover replaced)

Bad:

•AC stopped blowing cold in August - I have not had it diagnosed yet (heat still works well)
•Power antenna doesn't go up/down anymore. (Radio reception is still good though)
•Tires are still in good shape, and evenly worn, but will probably need to be replaced in the next 10k miles

you don't say how much he wants for it ?

Well i would say, as the owner of a 2003, why not a 2001 -2004 with the VQ engine, they are much faster and as good or better on fuel consumption.

Yes the VQ comes with some baggage but rest of vehicle is great.
You get chains instead of timing belts, a later vehicle with hopefully lower mileage.
