Postby soufen » Tue Jul 02, 2013 5:42 pm

ok so this is tricky...

when It is super hot outside the clutch engages then disengages...this continues for about 15 minutes

when it cools down outside the system works as it should......

they guys said it sounds like it is my high pressure switch on the a/c drier....problem is I cant find it.....anybody have any idea where this is located

The drier, or "liquid tank," as it's called on R-134a systems, is usually near the side of the A/C condenser. Nissan usually locates them on the left side (driver's side) of the radiator and the switch mounted on the very top of the liquid tank. If you don't find it there, let me know and I'll look it up.

What are you going to do? By-pass it?
It sounds like it might be working correctly but, the system is borderline overcharged.

I wouldn't recommend bypassing it. Only way to find out what's going on is to do a performance test using the service manual procedure and a set of AC gauges.

Also check and make sure that the radiator fins and the AC condenser in front of the radiator are not plugged up with dirt and/or dead bugs. Washing them with a garden hose should help.
