Auto Door Locks

Postby rdss » Sun Aug 27, 2006 10:02 am

I am wondering if anyone knows how to enable the auto lock/unlock feature on the R51 Pathfinders or if the feature is even available. It would make me feel more comfortable with my wife driving around with her doors locked since she normally forgets. I tried searching and have found nothing on how to activate this feature. Thanks for the help.

It kind of baffels me, this is really a safty feature and as much as the auto makers are into crash safty you figure they would be into occupent safty as well. My Honda Civic has this feature and it was disabled, but I found a forum that had a write up on turning it on and was hoping the Pathfinder did the same, but ohwell.

No the pathfinder does not come with that feature. I wish it did because ever since I've been driving I'vd had the auto lock feature and never worried about having to push the button to lock the doors. Now I have gotten used to it.. There is a solution though, KP technologies has a module that you can install that will auto lock the doors for you. That have several other items of interest that you can install yourself. Either look into that, or go buy an aftermarket alarm and they ccome with autolock.

the auto door lock feature would be nice. i stumbled on something by mistake. i was at the store and i had my son and my sistor in my truck. my wifes spare keys for my truck was in my sons diaper bag. i threw the bag onto the seat and heard all my doors lock. the truck was running when this happened. the paths doors can be locked and unlocked by the remote while the engine is running. if my sister was not in my truck and i closed the doors i would have to break my glass.

so why not just push the lock button? i find it annoying my expedition would do it when ever you would push the brake and put it in drive, made me crazy especially when going down the street to get the mail.

not sure about the US models (vs. Canadian) but i believe se/le can be enable by the dealer. You can set pretty well everything - light sensitivity, headlight timer, dome light time, key-lock-in....i think auto lock too. I can check tomorrow AM if anyone really wants to know...i personally hate it. But i'm 99% sure the dealer has to do it.
