Nice Turbo Diesel. I am curious, what's the fuel economy like with the diesel. We have V6 petrol as the only powerplant option in the US.

The average is about 9.8/Litres per 100/ks arround town. out on the road it sits on 9/Litres per 100/ks, we have both the options here in aus we get the TD or V6 petrol, they had to drop the price on the petrol due to it not selling.

Yes, that is better than what we get with the V6 gas burner...

In terms of US miles per gallon economy measurements your diesel is turning in 24-26 mpg versus 15-20 mpg for unleaded petrol on my V6.

There a neat conversion here http://www.sciencemadesimple.net/fuel_economy.php

On the suspension question, I would suggest the first upgrade would be the OR Edition's Rancho shocks, or do they all come with those in Aus because of the road conditions?

No the shocks never got changed for our road conditions, so it has been a huge problem for the pathfinder we do feel every bump in the road, the first mod will be to change the shocks but i wan't try and find the right shock that will do the job well, but i also want to find out how many inches i can raise the pathy without efecting the wheel alighnment.

ARB

Postby rragpaoa » Thu Aug 24, 2006 10:35 am

From what I have been researching, ARB Australia is coming out with an Old Man Emu suspension upgrade for the 2005+ Pathy.

Look here:
http://arb.com.au/news/international/winter_2006.pdf
See the last page.

I have an OME setup for my 2001 Montero and it's great. Better springs and better shocks ~2" lift

Unfortunately, according to ARB USA, the USA version of the 2005 Pathfinder is slightly different, so they do not have the OME here yet. Hopefully soon. I wonder if the Australia suspensions have more wheel travel than the US version. Anyone confirm this?

Looks like you can raise it or lower and tighten the suspension with these guys. www.kingsprings.com.au/

Check out their catalog under 05 on Pathfinder R51

I emailed the folks at KingSprings asking the cost, if it will work with the US version of the 2005+ Pathy, and how much a lift they provide.
I am very interested in finding a suspension lift.

King springs are a good quality springs and sold at the right price i had them in my Torana, we also have pedders which make a top quality spring and shock, then there is Bilstein who developed a good shock for the pathy they were fetured in one of our 4x4 monthly magazines, and then theres Old man emu, Lovells . But im yet to wait untill i have had feedback on all theses makes before i make my purchase, i have been thinking of some rancho shocks with the king springs but i'm not sure yet. http://www.pedders.com.au/ http://www.bilstein.com.au/ http://www.arbusa.com/old_man_emu_suspension.htm http://www.lovells.com.au/

I also emailed kingsprings about their product, i was given a price and told that fitment "should not be a problem..." but i am nervous ordering given the fact that other companies seem to think there is a difference in suspension between american and aus. pathfinders. Shipping also cost more than the actual springs which made it tough.

Anyone have any further information at this point?
