Just got new wheels and tires for my 08 v8 pathfinder!

Postby Birdbath8 » Sat Jan 26, 2008 9:02 am

Hi all. Thanks to those that provided guidance/advice on the sizing of the tires to go with. I ended-up moving to 20 x 8.5" wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion ATR's 275/55/r20. It rubbed in the front after install, but thanks to RacerZX's suggestion about the heat gun on the fender lining, all is good.

I love the look and it drives great (although a bit more road vibration in steering wheel), but I think I need to some heavier duty shocks on the front to handle the bigger wheel. I've been searching around for KYB's (with no luck). Can anyone recommend a great shock that won't make the ride too stiff?

I put a few pics online (will be putting more out there with better quality in the coming days).

Thanks for the help. :D

Yep, no luck here either. I contacted KYB a couple of weeks ago and they havent made them for the R51 yet. They are, "looking into it".

I'm partial to Bilstein's. Made a night and day change in my old Grand Cherokee, If I wasn't getting my OME in the mail next week I'd grab the setup the new off-road models are running.

Awsome.

I had a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR's (265/70/16) put on my '06 V6 S 4x4 on Friday (1/25/08).

So far haven't hit the highway w/ them, just around town. Do have a 300 mile trip that I have taken in the Pathfinder MANY times (including last week) on Thursday though, so I should be able to compare MPG. My S came with 245/765/16's, so these are quite a bit wider and just a hair (about 0.2") taller.

Seem to be a very quite tire, steller reviews, and look friggin awsome.

I used to have Scorpian ATR's on my grand cherokee. They were great and held up well. I had a D or E rated tire I forget which. Either way it lowered the MPG because of the extra heft and rolling resistance. I never got a flat though.
