Tire and wheel size question

Postby aihsela » Tue Mar 18, 2008 9:51 am

Does anyone know if a 285/60/18 tire will rub the hub at all? Factory calls for 255/55 and I currently have 255/60 on the stock 16's. I would like to get something a little taller if possible. Anyone know? Thanks :).

I'm not sure about R50 clearances Aihsela, but the two tire/wheel sizes listed in the R50 owners manual are 255/65R16 and 245/65R17 with a max height of about 30 inches.

You might try posting on the Nissanhelp forum as those guys can usually give fairly accurate info on older trucks;

In my experience a good tire shop will charge minimum to try out some combinations for you to check for clearances and rubbing, but a 285/60R18 tire is about 31.5 inches tall and about 2 inches wider than stock if that helps.
