bumpsteer after shock replacement

Postby zoodragon » Fri Jun 07, 2013 1:21 pm

so i replaced all the shocks with bilsteins and installed some bags in the rear coils. Im now experiencing some pretty bad bumpsteer even after an alignment.

any tips on where to start?

oh and while i was at it, i replaced the tires with some cooper at3s and am noticing some very SLIGHT inside feathering

the setup in only ~ 2 months old and its getting worse. i figured it was just settling...id rather not ruin my brand new tires already

could over tightening the front shocks cause bumpsteer?

thanks

I'd verify the alignment is right and make sure they take into account the airbags at the settings you normally use. The funky jumping on mine has always been directly related to the alignment. Some shops do not have experts running their alignments....

Agreed. Most tire shops I've ever seen have chimps doing the alignments. I've never not had to go back for an immediate realignment. Ever.
