Yakima roof cargo bag for Nissan Rogue S?

Postby peter77 » Sat Mar 30, 2019 6:00 pm

Hello everyone,

I have a 2015 Nissan Rogue S and am looking to be able to store stuff on my roof. Unfortunately it's a flat top and doesn't have ANY bars and getting a lot of work done to make it fit would be a huge hassle and very expensive.

Has anyone used the Yakima rooftop cargo bags for vehicles without any roof bars? Are they secure enough for very long road trips? You're supposed to be able to mount it w/o bars but I don't have experience with them and don't know how good they are.

Thank you!

Would you be open to installing a trailer hitch in the back? You could mount a cargo carrier in a tray and save your self some gas by not increasing your wind resistance. A friend of mine has the metal tray type from Harbor Freight he uses when he goes camping. Makes getting cargo out of the hatch a bit of a pain in the ass when it's mounted though.
