Bose System Issues

on my 2008 pathfinder with the bose system. When i turn the key on (not to crank it) the speakers make a loud popping or thumping noise. If you are not expecting it, it will scare the crap out of you. I've done a little research and from what i read, it might be that the amp is being shorted some where. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions. Thanks for any help in advance.

It could be. If it's just one speaker, I would lean towards the problem being the speaker, but if it's all of the door speakers or just the subwoofers, I would lean towards an amp. FYI, you can get parts for the Bose systems directly through Bose Corp. and usually cheaper than what you can get them for from Nissan. Or, you could always hit the auto salvage yard!
