Would you tow this?

Postby se7en » Wed Mar 25, 2020 7:26 pm

I have a 2009 PF SE
I would like to tow a tractor to my farm that weighs 6878 pounds. It’s a 2wd MF 178. Driving it for 6 hours - 99.9% on the highway through the Rockies.

The flatbed trailer could be another 500lb or so..

With a lot of care - can it be done?

You're exceeding the tow capacity by almost 1300 lbs. and driving through the Rockies. I wouldn't recommend it.

over heating transmission and/or engine is a real possibility especially thru the mountains.. on a short drive on even terrain i might chance it.. but a long drive thru the mountains.. no
