Throttle position sensor adjusting procedure (SMJ999)

Postby winndixie21 » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:59 am

SMJ999 you give me details on adjusting throttle position sensor back about three years ago on my 92 PF. I have recently replaced a TPS on another PF but went back to find your procedure and could not find it.
Over the last few years my mind draws a blank on what you told me then , and it worked well on the 92 and this is another identical 92 PF.
Thanks in advance

The older I get, the more I forget about about WD21's! Try this link as it should have the info you seek. Remember to clean the throttle body/plate if it needs it before doing this and make sure the engine is fully warmed up:

Thanks for the reply and link, what you describe is my problem, I have so many things that go through my mind daily that I have to purge some of it in order to make room for the new !
I was trying to remember, and the procedure in the link you sent comes back to me now, but I was thinking that it required resetting the ecm as well, and to do that did you tell me to remove the negative battery terminal for twenty to thirty minutes !?
Thanks for your help you are greatly appreciated here !

There's no need to reset the ECM. Just adjust it as necessary and that's it.
