Differential / Transfer Fluid Amounts

Postby jhg120 » Fri Mar 15, 2019 3:59 pm

So wife drives a 2013 Pathfinder. The manual does not show the amount to add in quarts of fluid for the front and rear diff and the transfer case. Anyone know how the quantities?

Also, what type and brand recommended would be great. Thanks as always.

There is only a rear differential to service as the front differential is built into the CVT transmission, thus the CVT fluid lubricates it; servicing the CVT fluid thus also services the front differential oil.

Per the Nissan FSM:

Rear Diff: Genuine Nissan Differential Oil Hypoid Super Semi-synthetic API GL-5, SAE 75W90 gear oil. Capacity: 1-pint.

Transfer Case: Genuine Nissan Differential Oil Hypoid GL-5 80W90 or API GL-5 viscosity 80W90. Capacity: 5/8-pint

CVT transmission: Genuine Nissan CVT Fluid NS-3. Capacity: 9-1/4 quarts (US/Canada), 8-3/5 quarts (Mexico)

I assume I can use some Mobil 1 equivalent or stick to Nissan only?
