Trailer brake controller mounting options

Postby Elite130 » Mon Aug 09, 2010 9:57 am

I just ordered a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller for our Pathfinder and was wondering where the best place to mount one is? I'm assuming the best, and almost only place, is right by the right kneed under the dash. I have also seen one mounted in the little cubby slot above the 4wd and TCS buttons. Anyone have any other good ideas?

Please post pics if possible.

I have mine in the cubby. It's right there but out of the way. The wires easily reach to the harness by the steering column. You just need to cut a small hole at the back for the wiring to go through.

I have mine between my legs under the steering wheel. When not in use, I keep it in the top glove box. Once it's set you really don't need to worry about it.

As I have read on the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller features, I think this trailer brake controller is good. As stated there, it applies power to the trailer brakes in proportion to vehicle's deceleration. Plus a quick and easy disconnect feature allows user to remove and store the control when not in use.
