MPG's

Postby Burt » Mon Aug 21, 2006 7:13 am

Just bought the 2006 LE and love it. I have 3k miles on it in just under a month. Just took a trip from Philadelphia out to a club near Ligonier PA for a wedding. Just over 500 miles. Started the MPG in the garage in Center City Philly. Trip up the Schullkill expressway was 20mph to 35mph bumper to bumper for the first 20 miles. The PA turnpike, 210 miles, was truckin along at 70 +, ++ at times. From the turpike exit to the club, it was about 25 miles at 45mph of rolling and winding country roads with one big climb/decent down into the valley.
Overall 18.5 MPG round trip.......awesome vehicle!
I run high test...91 or 93
Day to day driving:
City/burbs/highway combo mpg seems to be 17.4
Best highway was 20.4
City 15.3

Carl, I was wondering if you did a before and after in terms fuel consumption with your spoiler, some sites claim about 1 mpg loss in FE from spoiler installations but did you see any difference. Does the spoiler provide any help in keeping the rear window cleaner. Thanks.

Greybrick,

See this topic for RacerZX's results on the spoiler...

Oh! Thanks for the reminder. I've never been able to "test" if the spoiler helps keep the rear window clean since there's no easy before and after test. But the upcoming forum trip to Death Valley will allow a perfect side by side comparison
