How to tow with a 2005 Pathfinder?

Postby LILMONEYMAN23 » Sat Feb 09, 2008 6:35 pm

I know i need a ball mount to use with my factory mounted hitch. Where do I find the wiring? I need to haul a uhaul trailer. They asked me if I had it but I have no idea?!?!
Thanks

The local U-Haul shops that I've been to will do modifications to the wiring or hitch that are needed to haul a trailer legally and safely at a fair price.

The factory flat four pin wiring is to the left of the hitch, facing sideways with a black cover over the connector. This is the way it is on my 2008, so I assume your 2005 would probably be this way.

U-haul has all the different adapters needed to attach the different types of vehicle connectors to their own four pin system.

Yep, same on all the PF's. I had to get one of their $5 adapters for my previous truck the first time I rented a trailer. Trailers I rented later were already fitted with a matching four-pin connector, so check before you buy.

They will have the wire adapter, I think all of their trailers use a 2" ball mount. The ones I've rented there (their biggest flat bed, and biggest box trailer) both worked well w/ a 4" drop hitch (with a 2" ball).
