I have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder and yesterday I noticed I was feeling warm with the a/c running. Cold air was coming from the driver's side dash vents BUT hot air was coming from the right dash vents!
Can anyone explain what could cause this problem and how do I rectify it? |

Hi, my 05 has a dual climate control for the front cabin. I can set independent temps for driver and passenger. I can then cancel this and make both adjust together as one temp.
So question is, do you have dual temp control? This could explain the issue. _________________ 2005 R51 2.5TD T-Spec Fully Loaded!

Hello Rob,
Thanks for your response.
My pathfinder has dual climate control but I have
adjusted both down to 60 degree settings and only the left
side dash vents respond to the lower setting, the right dash vents
nothing but hot air !! |

I've had the same, but opposite, problem as you. I haven't really found a solution to it yet. Judging by what some other sites (different vehicles) it could be a couple of things but most likely an actuator down in the blower housing. Really hoping someone has an answer as I would like to have the A/C blowing on the drivers side like it should. _________________ 05 SE Off Road 4x4 |

I've known similar issues on 2003 onwards Range rovers, on them it is the final stage resistor which has a huge heat sink type think attached to it. I presume it somehow senses the temp from the AC systems.
My Pathy did this once, I switched off and restarted the car and it cleared it's self. I put it down to a "glitch" on some circuit somewhere.
Hope this is helpful, if you get it all the time I'd be looking for a simialr sensor as the Rangie has , no doubt goes under a different name in a Nissan |

Is it in "AUTO" mode?
If so, take it off that mode. Mine has done the same but opposite, and saw this thread.
Took that advice and haven't dealt with it since.

Nmex,
Tried in manual and auto mode, same result.
I did some further checks and fornd out that the rear vents are
blowing at room temp. (not cool)
So only the driver side dash vents are blowing cold air.
Checked the a/c pipes in the engine compartment and they are cold
to the touch. |
