washer fluid reservoir

Postby mtmrayz » Mon Jun 11, 2012 11:57 am

Hi all. I just bought my daughter a '97 pathfinder and the washer fluid reservoir is all busted up. The dealer wants $180 for a replacement! Can anyone give me any advice on where to get a replacement?
Thanks

find your closest junkyard and see if you can rip one out of a junked finder

Nissan MSRP is $137.17 for the washer reservoir, which includes two new pumps, so your dealer is bangin' you pretty hard! You can get the reservoir online from 1stAAANissanParts.com for $99.17 plus shipping. If that's still too high, I agree that finding a used one from a salvage yard would be a good option. Depending on how bad it is, you might be able to remove the old one and repair it using epoxy (ie JB Weld) or fiberglass matting...both available at your local Lowe's or Home Depot.

Thanks for the suggestions. My local 4x4 salvage yard says the nearest one they can find is in north dakota??? I kind of like the idea of trying to glue the thing back together! I wonder how many pieces are missing. All it has to do is not leak. Hmmmm
