can't believe i didn't know that....glad i didn't switch out the cap like i was planning to.
Well hot damn, the gas cover DOES lock!

Put my name on the list of people who were getting ready to buy a locking gas cap but now don't need to! Cool feature.
I've only had the Pathie a couple of weeks and didn't get an owner's manual. (it's an 06 base model) I downloaded one from the top of the page and I'm learning all kinds of things. The trip computer is pretty neat.

but I use a locking cap for safety.

If you guys really want a pissing contest, check this out;
Look at the fuel door of an 05 vs. say an 08 - 05's you need to push the opposing side to flip the door open, newer ones have a little bump in the door you can grab with your fingers!
FYI - if you look at your fuel guage, it had a little picture of a gas pump, the arrow next to it points to which side your fuel door is on.
The lock is hard to add, it has a specific shape hole and the locking clip is particular, also they're a pain to get at from the back - I pity anyone that has to change it. The fuel door also has a recieving tab that the actuator mates to.

Actually I just took mine apart, it wasnt that hard at all, just a lot of pop rivets rear lower seat belt bolt and like 3 screws. probably took a total of 45min-1 hr thats to take apart, take actuator out and put it all back, and it was my first time doing so.Tech wrote: I pity anyone that has to change it.
